That’s when I ask myself
And there’s the payoff for the previous snippet! The foreboding!! The worry! Love it. Who hasn’t been in her shoes.
I also love this passage, as an A1 student, I know all the words in this snippet. There isn’t a lot of new vocab, but then when it’s all combined… another story!
This is definitely a long passage, the sentences can be long as well, making it tricky. But Isabelle has a clear accent and her sentences are easy to follow. While long, I think it’s perfect for beginners like me.
It’s when I’m going through these and slowly improving that I ask myself, why aren’t I diving into even more complicated passages?
It’s true, I do want to find some interviews and more challenging news sources for clips. What do you think should be added to the site? What would challenge you and keep you interested? Let us know!

Everyone is tired from the long day of travel and falls asleep quickly.
Yes, well, everyone but me.
Imagine, you are lying in a bed seven meters above the ground and a light wind is blowing.
The wood makes noise, and so do the leaves of the tree. You feel like you’re in a boat.
That’s when I ask myself:
“But why, Isabelle, why did you absolutely want to spend a night in a tree? What an idea! And if there is a storm…?”
