All to myself
It’s nice to have something all to yourself. Especially when you have kids. I can appreciate getting some time by myself and enjoying a break evening. I don’t know where the next snippet will take us, it sounds a bit foreboding, no?
With learning French, learning any language, every improvement is personal. A personal victory, a personal improvement, a personal plateau, a personal stumbling. But the point of language is to communicate with others.
The act of learning a language is 100% personal, and the act of speaking a language is about interacting with others.
I’m trying to speak up in class and looking for ways to speak more. My wife and I are occassionally texting in our basic French. Maybe this blog will turn to French eventually. What are you doing to get out of learning the langauge and keeping it all to yourself?

After dinner, it is already late, we return to our hut to go to bed.
It is already dark, and there is no electricity in the hut.
Fortunately, we have flashlights. My husband decided to sleep in the children’s cabin.
At that time they were small and we didn’t want to leave them alone in the dark.
So I have a big cabin all to myself.
