Is this a good or bad sign?
I just wrote an email in French. I found I could say most of what I wanted to say. It’s easy to want to slip back into English, but at the same time there is a sense that some words and ways of asking questions are more within reach.
I wrote another one a couple weeks ago, missing the confidence and just overall not sure of how to say anything.
As you’re learning French, it’s easy to remember all you don’t know. Shining a flashlight into the dark, not seeing an end. There’s no end to language study, we only have our goals of what we want to be able to say/do/achieve… and then hopefully saying that thing, having that conversation.
Have you stopped to take in where you are now? You’ve probably come a lot further than you give your self credit for. It’s a good sign that your studies are paying off.
