Another day, another quiz. And so on. My French is definitely far superior to when I first started this project, 200+ quizzes ago. But I’m still far from where I want to be. So the studies will continue, and so forth. Each day I’ll try to keep this site fresh with new podcasts. As we close out this episode of Balades, the question becomes, what’s next for us? What does “et ainsi de suite” mean in French?
“Et ainsi de suite” is a French expression that can be translated to “and so on” or “and so forth” in English. It is used to indicate that there are more items or examples of the same kind that are not being enumerated or mentioned, but that the listener or reader can infer. It’s a way to shorten a list of items or examples by not mentioning all of them and leaving it to the listener/reader to understand that there are more.
