I’ll be the first to admit, learning a language isn’t so pretty. There’s pronunciations that are mashed, words misused, and cultural nuance that is still in a blindspot. But isn’t that the fun part? As long as you don’t mind making a fool of yourself. I don’t. Or at least, I pretend I don’t, and that’s as good as the real thing in my book.

And eventually you get to a point in your language study where 12 fairies bestow all the possible qualities—er, that’s not right, but I think you realize you’ve got all the possible qualities to engage, understand, and be a part of a foreign society. And that’s a great feeling. So keep on keeping on.
