Between…

I like having what feels like an easier snippet in the midst of it all. It’s important to remember how much we are understanding. Yes, there are some really difficult pieces on site (check out these fast clips). But, when the pace is right and the content is right, we can understand.

I’m reminded again of the other night on the tram (not in France). I overhear two people speaking in a familiar language, I listen in and realize I understand. It’s French, and I can follow along to parts (and the parts I can hear).

It’s these little moments in my French learning journey that remind me I am making progress. When learning in what feels like a vacuum, I don’t have classmates or friends to speak with in French. I’m not in France to keep practicing. The benchmarks aren’t easily available, making the progress feel slower. But it’s there.

How’s your progress? I stand by it, this podcast, Balades, is one of the best for beginners learning French. With this podcast and these snippets on site, you can practice your French in just 10 minutes a day. If this wasn’t enough, check out yesterday’s quiz. Join us for the next quiz.

How are you finding these shorter snippets? I’m open to any and all feedback, as always. Let me know.

  1. Hey,

I think the box for “d’Azur” isn’t accepting inputs because your source text has a real apostrophe instead of a single quote mark? Not quite sure.
