I really love when a word in French is nothing like the equivalent in English. Yes, a lot of the words are quite similar, so similar that with my English knowledge and Spanish vocabulary, I can just about guess.
This one I definitely wouldn’t get right. In English “curisosities” definitely carries a bigger, more loaded meaning than it does in French. Though I love it here, and will need to remember this.
Now, the interesting thing is that it seems “curisosities” in English is also the same word. It’s just this context that makes it simply tourist attractions.
That is curious, no?
