We are the podcast player for French learners
“Learn French with podcasts” They said. That’s what I read on Reddit, on Facebook, and many blogs. It’s easy, they said, just “listen to French podcasts”.
But which podcasts? And how do I get through a full episode? Online you might find podcast lists, but most of those podcasts are in English or describe vocab and grammar rules, they aren’t really French podcasts. There are few resources for students of French at the A1-B2 level, who want to understand fast spoken French. I want to understand more than just my teacher after all.
Bitesize French fills that gap.
This project is the possibility of fun and inspiration to understand French in the wild: fast French, as it is spoken in real life. We make difficult French podcasts accessible for learners at any level. With Bitesize French you’ll hear French-language audio clips each less than a minute in length.
Our goal is to make French in real life accessible to everyone.
We have paired each audio clip with its transcription in the form of a fill-in-the-blanks quiz. You can follow along with as much or as little of the transcript as you need while listening. These short quizzes are less than a minute and a new quiz is added to the site daily, making it easy to form a habit.
The mini-quizzes are a great way to ensure that you are getting the most out of your podcast-based education. The quizzes provide real time results. The audio clips play on repeat, you can adjust the speed at which it plays, set the number of blanks you see in the quiz, and get hints if you get stumped.
So when they say: “Learn French with podcasts,” they mean use the Bitesize French quiz tool. Improve your French vocabulary and listening comprehension skills with French in real life. Listen to French content made for native speakers and hone your listening skills. Take today’s quiz. Watch the demo video below to see how the quiz works. Give it a try, and see how you can improve your French with podcasts easily!
Our daily quiz is free and updated every single day. Access to the hundreds of audio quizzes on sites is available with a membership.

This is a work in progress. I’m not an educator, I’m not fluent in French (yet). I’m simply very curious. Read on to see: Why short lessons? Can you learn a language this way? What’s next?
